- Duration: 26 weeks (May 11, 2026 – November 9, 2026)
- Schedule: 4x10-hour day shifts per week (Tue–Fri, 07:00–17:00)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $5,250–$5,620/week
- Setting: Hospital – Plastic Surgery (Breast Reconstruction / Surgical Oncology)
- EMR: Epic (Epic EMR experience preferred)
- Support Staff: MAs, RNs, APPs, Surgeons

Minimum Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active California Nurse Practitioner license (required)
- Board Certification: ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, or ACNPC (required)
- Current California DEA with Schedule II authority (required)
- BLS (AHA) certification (required)
- NP First Assist certification for operating room assistance (required)
- Minimum 1 year recent, relevant surgical oncology and/or plastic surgery experience as an APP or Acute Care NP
- Strongly preferred: direct experience in breast reconstruction (post-mastectomy reconstruction) and OR first assist role
- Proficiency in basic OR skills: suturing, tissue expansion management, wound care, biopsy assistance
- COVID-19 vaccination and booster (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Responsibilities
- Assist in the OR for breast reconstruction surgeries (50–75% clinical time), functioning as an OR first assist when indicated
- Provide post-operative management and acute care on med-surg/telemetry floors (25–50% time), including pain management, drain care, and discharge planning
- Perform basic OR and bedside procedures: suturing, wound care, drains, biopsies, and tissue expander management
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, RNs, MAs, and other APPs as part of a multidisciplinary surgical oncology team
- Document clinical care, operative notes, and discharge instructions accurately in Epic EMR
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to adult and occasional adolescent patients undergoing reconstructive procedures
- Remain flexible to alternate between OR and floor responsibilities based on service needs
