Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Audiology (AuD preferred) from an accredited program
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Audiologist; hospital experience preferred
- Valid Audiologist license in the state of Pennsylvania (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience with diagnostic audiometry (pure-tone, speech), tympanometry, OAEs, and ABR preferred
- Proficiency in hearing aid fitting, verification (real-ear), and assistive listening devices is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to counsel patients and families
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary hospital team
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with hospital EMR systems
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic audiological evaluations for patients of all ages, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
- Perform and interpret tests such as pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, tympanometry, otoacoustic emissions (OAEs), and auditory brainstem response (ABR)
- Fit and dispense hearing aids and assistive listening devices; program and verify fittings (real-ear measurement when applicable)
- Provide counseling, education, and rehabilitation planning for patients and their families regarding hearing loss and treatment options
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care in the hospital
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and comply with hospital policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in departmental meetings, continuing education, and initiatives to improve audiology services and patient outcomes
