- Unit: Lerner Tower 5 – Cardiac Stepdown (30 beds; cardiac telemetry/step-down unit)
- Start Date: May 3, 2026
- End Date: August 1, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks (travel nursing opportunity)
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 – $2,010
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
- At least 1 year of recent acute care nursing experience; cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or progressive care experience preferred
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- ACLS preferred and/or telemetry certification encouraged
- Completion of required onboarding health screenings (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Fit Test, 2-Step PPD or IGRA, Physical/Health Statement)
- Successful completion of skills checklist and competency exams
- Background check, fingerprinting, and drug screening as part of onboarding
- Driver's License/State ID
Key Responsibilities – Cardiac Stepdown Nurse (RN)
- Provide expert nursing care to adult patients with complex cardiac conditions in a cardiac stepdown / telemetry setting
- Perform continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpret telemetry strips for dysrhythmias
- Manage patients with advanced heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and cardiac implantable devices (VADs, pacemakers, ICDs)
- Assist with and manage recovery from cardiac procedures including cath lab procedures, ablations, cardioversion, and device implantations
- Collaborate with cardiology, heart failure, electrophysiology, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide patient and family education on cardiac disease, device care, medications, and discharge planning
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with clinical protocols
