Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or critical care RN experience required (Cardiac ICU experience preferred)
  • Active RN license (West Virginia or compact state)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN certification preferred
  • Must be willing to work night shifts (12-hour nights)
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from Morgantown, WV (no locals within 50 miles)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill cardiovascular and post-op cardiac surgery patients in the CVICU
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient status, hemodynamics, and vital signs using advanced monitoring systems
  • Administer medications, titrate drips, manage complex infusions, and operate advanced life support equipment
  • Provide ventilator management and respiratory support in collaboration with respiratory therapy
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, pharmacists, PT/OT) to develop individualized patient care plans
  • Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery expectations, and ongoing cardiovascular health
  • Maintain a safe, compliant, and supportive environment for patients and staff in the CVICU
