Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license required
- At least 1 year of relevant CVOR nursing experience required
- 2 years of cardiovascular operating room experience preferred for this assignment
- Current BLS certification required
- Strong cardiac scrub experience is a hard-stop requirement
- Experience with Epic charting required
- Prior travel nurse experience required
- Comfort working in a high-acuity operating room environment
- Ability to manage one-to-one patient care in the OR
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing support in the cardiovascular operating room
- Scrub and assist with complex cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures
- Support procedures such as CABG, valve replacement, LVAD/RVAD, and aortic aneurysm repair
- Maintain sterile technique and uphold universal protocol standards
- Assist with blood and blood product administration as clinically indicated
- Support specimen handling and labeling with accuracy and attention to detail
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative team members
- Adapt to call needs and weekend coverage as required by the unit
