Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license required
  • At least 1 year of relevant CVOR nursing experience required
  • 2 years of cardiovascular operating room experience preferred for this assignment
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Strong cardiac scrub experience is a hard-stop requirement
  • Experience with Epic charting required
  • Prior travel nurse experience required
  • Comfort working in a high-acuity operating room environment
  • Ability to manage one-to-one patient care in the OR

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing support in the cardiovascular operating room
  • Scrub and assist with complex cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures
  • Support procedures such as CABG, valve replacement, LVAD/RVAD, and aortic aneurysm repair
  • Maintain sterile technique and uphold universal protocol standards
  • Assist with blood and blood product administration as clinically indicated
  • Support specimen handling and labeling with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative team members
  • Adapt to call needs and weekend coverage as required by the unit
