• Setting: Cardiac Operating Room (CVOR) — cardiac nursing, perioperative nursing
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (6/15/2026 – 9/14/2026)
• Shift: 4 × 10-hour day shifts (06:00 – 16:00), 40 hours/week
• On Call: 2–3 call shifts per week; 48 hours of call every second to third weekend
• Holidays & Weekends: Required
• Scrub Colors: Navy Blue

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of CVOR RN experience (must have comprehensive scrub experience for cardiac/thoracic cases)
• Active RN license (Compact licenses accepted) — Virginia nursing jobs welcome
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred (electronic medical record documentation)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct perioperative patient care in the Cardiac Operating Room, including scrubbing for complex cardiac and thoracic surgical cases
• Serve as a skilled CVOR scrub nurse and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, perfusion, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond promptly to emergent cases in the cardiac OR
• Maintain accurate intraoperative and perioperative documentation, preferably using EPIC EMR
• Adhere to hospital protocols, safety standards, and sterile technique best practices
• Support both adult and pediatric surgical cases as needed
