Emergency Medicine Physician Job Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree
- At least 1 year of experience practicing emergency medicine
- Active Alabama medical license or eligibility to practice in Alabama
- Current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications
- Ability to provide safe, independent emergency care in a Level III trauma environment
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
Emergency Medicine Physician Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a broad range of emergent and urgent conditions
- Manage approximately 25 patient encounters during a 12-hour overnight shift
- Provide stabilization and ongoing care for trauma and medically complex patients
- Perform appropriate emergency procedures and coordinate consultations or transfers when indicated
- Collaborate with available anesthesia, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, radiology, laboratory, and other clinical support services
- Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team
