- Orientation: Onsite orientation required 1 day prior to the first scheduled shift
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $5,910-$7,000
- Patient Volume: Average of 36 emergency department patients per day
- Facility Setting: 11-bed Emergency Department
- Charting System: Meditech
- Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 30 days
- Trauma Level: Level III Trauma Center
Job Requirements
- Board Certified in Emergency Medicine required
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Medicine physician experience required
- Ability to provide efficient, high-quality care in a busy emergency department
- Comfort managing a broad range of emergency medicine cases and acute care presentations
- Ability to work collaboratively with ED RNs, advanced practice providers, and onsite support staff
- Must be able to complete locum tenens credentialing within the expected timeframe
- Strong communication, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills
Responsibilities
- Provide Emergency Medicine coverage for scheduled locum tenens physician shifts
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting to the emergency department
- Manage an average daily census of approximately 36 patients in a fast-paced ED setting
- Admit an estimated 3 patients per shift when clinically indicated
- Collaborate with onsite clinical support staff to ensure timely, effective patient care
- Document patient encounters accurately in Meditech electronic health records
- Support safe, efficient workflow in a 24/7 emergency care environment
