Job Requirements

  • Board certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM) required
  • Active full Michigan medical license required; IMLC or compact licenses are not accepted
  • Current ACLS and ATLS certifications required
  • 1+ year of emergency medicine experience required, preferably in a community emergency department
  • Experience supervising advanced practice providers required
  • Comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced emergency department setting
  • NPDB self-query required within 30 days of presentation

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality emergency medicine coverage for a busy community emergency department in Saint Johns, Michigan
  • Supervise and collaborate with advanced practice providers during overlapping shifts
  • Respond to hospital codes as needed
  • Interpret EKGs and support timely clinical decision-making
  • Evaluate, stabilize, and manage a broad range of emergency department patients
  • Coordinate care with consulting services and transfer protocols when additional specialty care is needed
