- Duration: 5 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,870–$3,020
- Schedule: 40 hours per week; 10-hour day shifts
- Call: Some call may be required
- Scheduling: Monday through Sunday availability required; block schedules are not available
- Orientation: Biweekly Monday orientation
- Clinical Environment: Inpatient, outpatient, and ICU patient populations
- Additional Coverage: May float to an outpatient facility as needed
Electrophysiology Lab RN Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- At least 2 years of professional nursing experience, preferably in an Electrophysiology Lab or comparable cardiac procedural setting
- Recent EPIC experience within the past 2 years
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to recognize and interpret basic cardiac rhythms and EKGs
- Experience caring for inpatient, outpatient, and ICU patients
- Reliable transportation is strongly recommended because public transportation is limited in the area
- Readiness for winter travel conditions, including the use of appropriate all-season or snow tires during colder months
EP Lab Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients undergoing electrophysiology procedures and advanced cardiac studies
- Prepare, assess, monitor, and recover patients throughout the procedural care continuum
- Support an expected volume of approximately 7–8 studies per day
- Recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes and changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with providers and the multidisciplinary Cardiology team to promote high-quality patient outcomes
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in EPIC
- Participate in scheduled call coverage and provide flexibility for outpatient facility coverage when needed
