Job Title: Epic Professional Billing (PB) Claims Analyst

Location: Remote

Start Date: Flexible

Duration: 6+ months (extensions likely through 2027)

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Epic PB Claims Analyst to join a remote contract. This is a long-term opportunity with a client that has multiple projects planned for 2027, so extensions are highly probable.

You will be responsible for the build, support, and optimization of Epic Professional Billing claims functionality. This includes working with claim files, EDI transactions, payer setups, and revenue cycle workflows to ensure clean claim submission and timely reimbursement.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain Epic PB claims configurations including claim rules, payer plans, and EDI mappings.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve claim errors, rejections, and denials.

  • Work with clearinghouse and payer connections to ensure smooth claim transmission.

  • Collaborate with billing, revenue cycle, and IT teams to resolve issues and improve workflows.

  • Test and validate system changes, upgrades, and new payer requirements.

  • Document build changes and maintain clear records of configurations.

  • Support go-live activities and provide post-live production support as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Active Epic Professional Billing certification.

  • At least 6 years of hands-on Epic PB claims experience.

  • Strong understanding of professional billing workflows including charge capture, claim generation, ERA/EFT, and denial management.

  • Experience with 837/835 EDI transactions and clearinghouse integrations.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Good communication skills for working with remote teams and stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Additional Epic certifications or experience

  • Prior consulting experience.

  • Experience with system upgrades and optimization projects within complex hospital systems.
