- Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
- Schedule: Mids/Night shift with rotating start times

- Department Profile: 16-bed emergency department with separate triage, average volume of about 65 patients per day, and a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- TNCC preferred
- Ability to interpret cardiac strips and manage common emergency department workflows
- Experience caring for patients of all ages, including sepsis, CHF, pneumonia, suicidal ideation, and abdominal pain presentations
- Comfort working in a fast-paced emergency nursing environment with rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records is a plus
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to emergency department patients across a wide range of acuity levels
- Perform rapid assessments, initiate interventions, and monitor patients closely throughout their ED stay
- Support triage operations and collaborate with the care team to prioritize patient flow
- Administer medications and manage common emergency drips as ordered
- Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate concerns quickly and appropriately
- Assist with procedures, labs, splinting, transport, and other bedside tasks as needed
- Interpret telemetry strips and respond effectively in urgent or emergent situations
- Work collaboratively with physicians, mid-level providers, respiratory therapy, and support staff to provide seamless patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and uphold department standards for safety and quality
