Experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Harvey, IL, near Chicago Southland. - Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Experience: 1+ year of emergency department nursing experience required
Job Requirements
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license in hand
- 1 year of emergency room / emergency department experience required
- Prior experience in an urban Level I Trauma ED required
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS required
- TNCC and CPI strongly preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Comfort working with adult and pediatric emergency patients
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency nursing environment
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across multiple age groups
- Assess, triage, and prioritize patients in a busy emergency department
- Support trauma, critical care, and acute interventions as needed
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospital protocols
- Monitor patient status and respond quickly to changes in condition
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to support efficient patient flow
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic
- Provide compassionate care and clear communication to patients and families
