- Scheduling Notes: Weekend coverage required; floating as needed
- Charting System: Epic
- Patient Ratio: 4:1 on days, nights, and weekends
Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of emergency department nursing experience, including adult and pediatric populations within the last 3 years
- Epic charting experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications through AHA
- Telemetry exam required prior to start
- Experience in a Level II trauma environment required; Level I trauma experience preferred
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced emergency care setting
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Provide expert emergency nursing care for patients across the lifespan, including infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
- Perform triage, rapid assessments, and timely interventions in a high-acuity Emergency Department
- Support care for a wide range of conditions, including trauma, stroke, respiratory distress, psychiatric emergencies, and other urgent presentations
- Administer medications, start and maintain IVs, and assist with procedures as needed
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, including dysrhythmias and telemetry findings
- Collaborate with physicians, ED techs, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and other support teams to ensure coordinated care
- Float as needed within the system to support patient care demands
- Maintain a calm, professional presence while caring for patients and families during stressful situations
