• Employment Type: Travel Nurse, On-Site
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: Mon/Tue/Wed 6:00pm – 6:30am; works every 6th weekend
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Setting: Emergency Department (ED) / ER — trauma, triage, acute care

Job Requirements

• Current Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (compact/non-compact rules apply)
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) / Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience
• Healthcare Provider BLS (AHA) required
• ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification
• Strong English communication skills (read, write, speak, understand)
• Experience with triage, trauma care, cardiac/respiratory emergencies, IV/medication administration preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide, plan, direct, and evaluate total nursing care for patients in the Emergency Department
• Perform rapid assessment, triage, and treatment for a broad range of emergency conditions
• Administer medications and IV solutions accurately and safely
• Maintain continuity of care across shifts and coordinate with inpatient and ancillary departments
• Utilize clinical data to prioritize patient needs and develop individualized care plans
• Identify and solve clinical problems, delegating and guiding personnel as needed
• Document care thoroughly and maintain accurate patient records and reporting
• Adhere to infection control policies and demonstrate calm, critical thinking in emergencies
• Assist other units (including Med-Surg) as needed and support cross-departmental patient flow
• Participate in staff education, policy/procedure updates, meetings, and orientation/training
• Exhibit professionalism, initiative, teamwork, and effective communication with patients and staff
