Travel ER RN night shift job in Columbus, Ohio (43210) supporting a fast-paced Emergency Department. Emergency Department RN Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department (ED/ER) RN experience (within the last 3 years)
- Travel Experience: Minimum 1 year of travel RN experience required
- License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or Ohio) in hand at time of submission
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Clinical Skills: Strong IV start skills; telemetry monitoring experience; emergency triage and rapid assessment
- References: Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leader; no coworker-only references)
- Time Off: Request time off must be submitted with application
- Compliance: Ability to meet a strict pre-start compliance deadline and complete fingerprinting promptly
Emergency Room (ER) RN Responsibilities
- Provide rapid assessment, triage, and evidence-based emergency nursing care for adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
- Manage high-acuity patients, including dysrhythmia recognition/management, and respond to time-sensitive emergencies per ED standards
- Initiate and maintain IV access and administer medications as clinically indicated and within scope
- Monitor and interpret telemetry and vital sign trends; escalate changes in condition promptly
- Document accurately and efficiently in Epic to support continuity of care, quality measures, and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners (respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services) to coordinate timely patient care
- Float to assigned areas as needed while maintaining patient safety, ED standards, and scope of practice
