Emergency Department RN Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Maine
- At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, preferably in an emergency department or acute care setting
- Strong patient assessment, communication, computer, and clinical documentation skills
- Ability to function independently in a fast-paced emergency nursing environment
- Ability to respond rapidly and efficiently during emergency situations
- Commitment to patient confidentiality, safety, and high-quality care
Emergency Room RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to emergency department patients and their families
- Perform focused and comprehensive patient assessments and promptly identify changes in condition
- Prioritize care and respond efficiently to urgent and emergent patient needs
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders, policies, and standards of practice
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to support timely patient care
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment, follow-up care, and safety instructions
- Support a patient- and family-centered care environment while upholding professional nursing standards
