General Anesthesiologist
Seeking a General Anesthesiologist for a locum tenens opportunity. Provide medical management for patients rendered unconscious or insensible to pain during surgical and medical procedures across general, neuro, orthopedic, and obstetric cases. Physicians supervise CRNAs and also perform their own cases. This opportunity offers competitive pay.
Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $8,860-$9,340
- Start Date: 7/13/2026
- Assignment Length: 52 weeks
- Schedule: 8- or 10-hour shifts, 16 Hour Days, 32 hours per week
- Case Types: General, Neuro, Orthopedic, and OB
- Charting System: Epic
- Care Team Structure: Physicians supervise CRNAs and also perform their own cases
- Privileges Timeframe: Approximately 45 days with temporary privileges available
Job Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. from an accredited College of Medicine
- Completion of an approved Anesthesiology residency program
- Board certification or fellowship required
- Current physician license required
- ECFMG and FLEX as applicable
- Candidates requiring a Pennsylvania state license will not be accepted
Responsibilities
- Provide medical management for patients rendered unconscious or insensible to pain during surgical and medical procedures
- Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and evaluate patient readiness for anesthesia
- Obtain and verify informed consent and discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients
- Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
- Monitor patients' physiological status throughout procedures
- Perform clinical interventions as needed to support patient safety
- Assist in directing and coordinating activities within the anesthesia department
- Supervise CRNAs and perform own cases as needed
