Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist opportunity in Portsmouth, Ohio (zip code 45662). Seeking a Board Certified Anesthesiologist with an active state medical license and ACLS/BLS/PALS for short-term locum tenens anesthesia jobs.   • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,780 - $2,080 (competitive locum tenens pay)
  • Assignment Dates: May 4 – May 8 & May 11 – May 15, 2026
  • Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts (6am orientation start; typical 7am–3pm; may stay later for add-on cases)
  • Facility/Setting: 19 ORs, 5 Endoscopy Rooms, 1 Maternity Suite – broad surgical and obstetric case mix
  • Call: Required 1–2 days during the week (participate in call rotation)
  • Lodging: Discounted hotels available (Holiday Inn Portsmouth Downtown, TownePlace Suites Ironton)
  • Credentialing Timeframe: Estimated 90 days (locum tenens credentialing support available)

Required Qualifications – Anesthesiologist Jobs in Ohio

  • Board Certified Anesthesiologist (required)
  • Active state medical license (physician license valid for Ohio locum positions)
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical anesthesiology experience
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (required)
  • Ability to medically direct and supervise CRNAs (4:1 medically directed supervision)
  • Fellowship training in subspecialty (cardiac, pediatric, pain, critical care) preferred

Core Responsibilities – Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist

  • Medically direct and supervise CRNAs (4:1 supervision ratio) and provide safe anesthesia care across a wide case mix
  • Run your own room as needed and manage add-on cases efficiently
  • Provide anesthesia for cardiac, orthopedic, vascular, thoracic, obstetric (OB), pediatric, regional, and pain management cases
  • Perform general, spinal, epidural, and peripheral regional anesthesia; post-op epidural and extremity blocks
  • Perform interventional pain procedures: epidural steroid injections (lumbar and cervical), transforaminal injections, and image-guided blocks using x-ray guidance
  • Manage ventilation, acute volume and blood pressure assessment, and critical care perioperative tasks
  • Perform invasive monitoring and access procedures as indicated: central line, arterial line, and PA catheter placement
  • Participate in scheduled call rotation and collaborate with surgical, obstetric, and critical care teams
