CRNA Job Requirements

  • Current license as a registered professional nurse in the U.S.; eligibility for VA state licensure preferred
  • Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia education program
  • Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA/CCNA)
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a CRNA
  • Willingness to work a broad case mix common to community acute care hospitals

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive pre-anesthesia assessments and develop perioperative anesthesia plans
  • Obtain and verify informed consent for anesthesia and educate patients about anesthetic options and risks
  • Provide safe induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia across diverse case types
  • Monitor physiological status, manage intraoperative hemodynamics, and respond to changes in patient condition
  • Perform airway management and clinical interventions; collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative staff
  • Document anesthesia care thoroughly and follow institutional protocols and quality standards
  • Maintain required certifications and comply with facility credentialing and privileging processes
