Travel MRI Technologist Job Details

- Shifts per Week: 4
- Shift Duration: 8-hour days
- Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch
- Call and Weekends: None scheduled
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Equipment and Systems: GE MRI equipment, Meditech Expanse, and PACS
- Dress Code: Hospital-provided or personal scrubs; closed-toe shoes required
MRI Technologist Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist or MRI Technologist Tech
- ARRT certification with MRI registration
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong knowledge of MRI safety procedures, patient screening, and contraindication protocols
- Ability to provide compassionate, professional patient care in outpatient and hospital diagnostic imaging environments
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with radiologists, technologists, nurses, and support staff
MRI Technologist Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MRI examinations according to established protocols and provider orders
- Complete approximately 5–12 MRI procedures per day while maintaining accuracy, safety, and efficiency
- Screen patients for contraindications, explain MRI procedures, and ensure informed cooperation throughout each exam
- Operate GE MRI equipment and accurately document examinations in Meditech Expanse and PACS
- Position patients safely and provide clear instructions to promote image quality and patient comfort
- Maintain compliance with MRI safety standards, department policies, and infection prevention practices
- Collaborate with the imaging team and radiologists to support timely diagnostic imaging services
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming radiology environment
