• Schedule: Days – 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off; Clinic hours 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM; 12-hour day shifts; 36 hrs/week

• EMR: Epic | Nursing Support: 1:1 | On-site: Imaging, Lab, Pharmacy, Infusion Center
• Patient Volume: Clinic 10–30 patients/day; Inpatient census 10–15

Job Requirements (Hematology/Oncology)

• Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Hematology & Oncology (Hematology/Oncology)
• Fellowship trained in Hematology/Oncology
• Active Iowa medical license or active IMLC participation (LOQ required if using IMLC)
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in hematology/oncology covering both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Comfort providing coverage at both Des Moines and West Des Moines medical centers
• Clean malpractice and background history; recent NPDB self-query required

Core Responsibilities (Hematology/Oncology Physician)

• Deliver comprehensive outpatient hematology and oncology care: new patient evaluations, consults, follow-ups, survivorship visits.
• Perform inpatient rounding and hematology/oncology consults at Des Moines and West Des Moines hospitals.
• Manage chemotherapy and biologic therapy regimens, supervise infusion services, and adjust treatment plans based on clinical status and labs.
• Provide supportive care and symptom management, including pain control and palliative interventions; participate in goals-of-care and end-of-life discussions.
• Coordinate referrals and collaborate with nursing, infusion staff, pharmacy, radiology, and multidisciplinary teams; participate in tumor board/case reviews.
• Document efficiently in Epic EMR, adhere to safety protocols, and support telehealth visits when applicable.
• Participate in scheduled call coverage as required by the locum assignment.
