Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Home Health & Hospice | Terrytown, LA 70056

Job Details

  • Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Home Health & Hospice
  • Location: Terrytown, LA 70056 (Greater New Orleans Metro)
  • Assignment Length: 8 weeks
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,120 - $2,230
  • Hours Per Week: 40
  • Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • On-Call: Rotation required
  • Visit Expectations: At least 25 visits per week
  • Setting: Hospice / Homecare / Home Health
  • Education: Associate degree required
  • Experience: 1+ year of RN experience in hospice or homecare preferred

Job Requirements

  • Active RN license and eligibility to work in the assigned state
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; hospice experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with HCHB (PointCare) platform required
  • Strong clinical documentation skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage a productive patient schedule while maintaining quality care standards
  • Comfort working in a home-based care environment and participating in an on-call rotation
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and time-management skills
  • Experience with complex patients, including cardiac drips, Airvo, or trachs, is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct the care of assigned patients in the home health and hospice setting
  • Complete accurate, timely clinical notes in accordance with documentation guidelines
  • Perform medication reconciliation during every patient visit
  • Support medication ordering and obtain medications prescribed by the physician as needed
  • Supervise and evaluate home health aides, including supervisory aide visits
  • Participate in admissions, recertifications, and hospice-related care processes
  • Attend Interdisciplinary Group meetings and complete required documentation before meetings
  • Participate in daily Morning Huddles and scheduled nursing and all-staff meetings
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while supporting overall plan-of-care goals
  • Maintain productivity expectations and coordinate mileage reimbursement between patient visits
