• Shift: Day shifts, 5x8-hour (08:00 – 16:30), Monday–Friday
• Hours per Week: 40
• Orientation Hours: 40
• Weekend Requirement: No regular weekends required; flexibility appreciated if needed
• On-Call / Holidays: No call required; no holidays required
• Scrub Color: Black or Caribbean blue

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,870–$1,970/week (competitive travel RN pay)

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia (required)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; hospice, palliative care, or home health experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations (hospice populations)
• Ability to document in Meditech HomeCare (electronic medical record experience required)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Fit testing required (must be clean-shaven unless exempted by provider letter)
• ZERO-TOLERANCE policy for THC
• Travelers who have worked permanent at Augusta within the past 24 months are not eligible
• Local candidates (within 50 miles) are not accepted — open to travel RNs outside the local radius

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hospice nursing and palliative care in patient homes, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities (home hospice, field nurse)
• Assess, plan, and implement individualized patient care for end-stage terminal diagnoses, including heart disease, respiratory disease, cancer, neurological disorders, and other life-limiting conditions
• Deliver palliative care interventions and symptom management focused on comfort and quality of life
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary hospice team, including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Social Services, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary
• Document patient care, clinical assessments, and progress using Meditech HomeCare
• Educate patients and families on hospice care options, end-of-life support, advance care planning, and symptom management strategies
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, hospice regulations, and best practices in hospice nursing
