Travel Anesthesia Technician Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,400–$1,500
- Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
- Assignment Type: 13-week hospital travel contract
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- End Date: January 30, 2027
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week, with orientation and holiday scheduling provisions
- Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts
- Schedule: Variable weekday shifts, generally Monday through Friday, with start times that may include 5:00 a.m., 5:30 a.m., 6:00 a.m., 6:30 a.m., 7:00 a.m., and 10:00 a.m.
- Call Requirements: Rotating backup and overnight call coverage, including approximately one call night per week and limited weekend call during the assignment
- Additional Scheduling: Rotating holiday coverage; may float to other regional locations as needed
- Travel Requirement: Personal vehicle required for call responsibilities
- Charting System: EPIC
- Dress Code: Any-color scrubs
Anesthesia Technician Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of anesthesia technician or anesthesia technologist experience
- At least 1 previous travel assignment required
- Associate degree or recognized certificate in anesthesia technology
- Anesthesia Technician certification required
- Verifiable high school diploma, GED certificate, or official high school or college transcripts required before contract signing
- AHA BLS certification preferred
- ASATT certification preferred but not required
- Trauma Level II experience strongly preferred
- Experience supporting cardiac procedures, central line placement, and Swan-Ganz catheter procedures preferred
- Strong adaptability, reliability, teamwork, and communication skills
Travel Anesthesia Technician Responsibilities
- Assist anesthesia providers across a variety of surgical specialties, with an emphasis on cardiothoracic services
- Prepare, organize, and maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies for scheduled and urgent procedures
- Support central line and Swan-Ganz catheter procedures according to established protocols
- Operate and assist with specialized equipment such as Cell Saver and Belmont systems
- Complete early-morning operating room setup and occasional charge responsibilities
- Provide dependable anesthesia support during scheduled shifts, call coverage, weekends, and rotating holidays
- Float to other regional care locations when operational needs require
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient anesthesia work environment
