Travel Surgical Technologist Job Details

• Assignment Type: 13-week travel contract
• Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,030-$2,190
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week, with orientation and holiday-related exceptions
• Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
• Call Rotation: Approximately one night per week, one weekend per month or every third weekend, backup coverage, and holiday rotation; a 30-minute response time may be required
• Float Expectations: May be asked to support other nearby locations as needed
• Charting System: Epic

CVOR Surgical Technologist Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent cardiovascular operating room experience
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through NBSTSA or NCCT
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate degree or surgical technology certificate preferred
• Cardiac and thoracic surgical experience required
• Thoracic robotic surgical experience preferred
• Ability to respond within 30 minutes when assigned to call
• Strong communication skills, flexibility, resilience, and a dependable work ethic

Cardiovascular Operating Room Responsibilities

• Prepare and efficiently set up operating rooms for cardiovascular, cardiac, thoracic, robotic thoracic, and other surgical procedures
• Review case carts and confirm that all required instruments, equipment, and supplies are available before each case
• Scrub cardiac, thoracic, and robotic thoracic procedures while maintaining sterile technique
• Support safe, organized surgical workflows in collaboration with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia professionals, and other operating room team members
• Turn over operating rooms efficiently between multiple procedures throughout the day
• Assist with cleaning, supply organization, case-cart preparation, and other downtime tasks as needed
• Participate in rotating call, weekend, holiday, and backup coverage
• Adapt to changing assignments and provide support at other nearby locations when required
