Certified Nursing Assistant Job Requirements
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Minimum of 2 years of bedside clinical experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, as required
- Ability to provide safe, respectful, and compassionate patient care
- Working knowledge of patient safety, infection prevention, HIPAA, and applicable healthcare standards
- Strong communication, organization, reliability, and teamwork skills
CNA Responsibilities
- Perform routine patient care and bedside nursing tasks under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Support safe patient handling and follow established safety procedures for patients, coworkers, equipment, and the work environment.
- Assist patients with meals and menu selections while following prescribed diets, allergies, sensitivities, and documented preferences.
- Prepare, deliver, and retrieve patient menus and nourishment items as assigned.
- Verify diet orders and ensure menu and nourishment labels reflect current patient instructions.
- Document care provided accurately and communicate patient care or service concerns to the appropriate department.
- Assist with clerical tasks, including answering phones, filing, faxing, photocopying, and maintaining organized records.
- Maintain appropriate supplies and assist with food service or trayline operations as needed.
- Attend required in-services and departmental meetings.
- Follow organizational policies, professional standards, HIPAA requirements, and applicable accreditation guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as requested to support quality patient care and efficient department operations.
