Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification – State Tested (required)
• Minimum 1 year experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred (hospital CNA experience)
• BLS certification (AHA) if required by state
• Strong commitment to patient and employee safety; knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills
• Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays and adapt to fast-paced clinical environments

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine bedside patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Assist with activities of daily living, mobility, hygiene, and safe patient transfers (safe patient handling)
• Document care provided in electronic or paper charting systems accurately and timely
• Support infection prevention protocols, patient safety initiatives, and departmental procedures
• Assist with patient meal selection and ensure dietary needs are met; prepare, assemble, deliver, and retrieve patient menus per prescribed diets
• Perform occasional clerical duties in the Food & Nutrition office and communicate food service or patient care issues to appropriate staff
• Attend departmental meetings, in-services, and participate in team-based clinical support activities
• Assist with other duties as requested to support patient care and hospital operations
