Job Details
- Position Type: Travel Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Location: Norristown, PA 19403 - a convenient Montgomery County location with easy access to the Philadelphia metro area
- Healthcare Setting: Behavioral health, psychiatric care, detox, and residential rehab
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: Every other weekend required; 3 out of 6 major holidays required
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $610 - $650
- Charting System: Cerner
- Orientation: Hospital orientation followed by unit-based orientation across assigned areas

Job Requirements
- Current CNA certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar behavioral health, psychiatric, or healthcare setting
- IV experience required
- Residential rehab experience strongly preferred
- BLS certification required
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
- Ability to work effectively with physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and addiction counselors
- Comfort working in a low-violence but potentially high-acuity behavioral health environment
- Willingness to float across campus between acute and rehab units as needed
- Professional appearance required; tattoos must be covered and nails kept natural
Responsibilities
- Support patient admissions during scheduled hours
- Assist with medication pass and patient care tasks as directed
- Perform patient assessments and promptly communicate changes to the care team
- Lead or assist with patient groups, with a focus on medication education and behavioral health support
- Partner with psych techs, nursing staff, and campus security to help maintain a safe, respectful environment
- Provide attentive care for patients in acute psych, detox, and residential rehabilitation units
- Assist with IV-related patient needs on units where required
- Promote dignity, respect, and stigma-free care for individuals experiencing mental health and addiction challenges
- Remain active, engaged, and professional throughout the shift while delivering high-quality patient support
