Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active Maryland CNA license or Nursing Compact license at time of submission
- BLS certification (AHA only)
- Minimum 1 year recent pediatric and acute care experience required (2 years preferred)
- Experience with tracheostomy care, g-tubes/NG tubes, and care for brain injury or spinal cord patients highly preferred
- Comfortable floating to Baltimore campus and sister units as needed
- Two professional references required (1 supervisor/manager and 1 charge RN)
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (travel contract requirement)
Core Responsibilities
- Provide basic ADLs for pediatric patients, including transfers, bathing, turning, and hygiene
- Monitor and record vital signs, drain output, weight, and intake/calorie counts
- Assist with feeding (oral, NG tube, or g-tube) and prepare feeds on day shift
- Perform tracheostomy care, catheter care, and pressure injury prevention under RN supervision
- Support rehabilitation needs for premature infants through school-aged children
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and nursing staff
- Maintain safe patient transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Adapt to floating assignments across units and campuses as required
