Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on CT scanning experience (hospital or outpatient imaging environment preferred)
- Active ARRT (CT) certification required
- Valid Kentucky state license (or ability to obtain)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, cross-sectional anatomy, and CT imaging protocols
- Experience with contrast administration and CT safety/radiation protection practices
- Excellent patient communication, education, and bedside manner
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate CT scanners and related imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images for physicians
- Prepare and educate patients for CT procedures; obtain accurate history and address questions/concerns
- Position patients and equipment to optimize imaging results and ensure diagnostic image quality
- Administer contrast media per protocol and monitor patients for reactions; adhere to radiation safety guidelines
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to evaluate images and determine additional imaging needs
- Maintain infection control, quality control, and documentation standards in the radiology department
- Assist with student supervision and on-the-job training for radiologic technology students and new staff
