Medical Assistant Job Details
- Location: Boston, Massachusetts 02114
- Healthcare Setting: Outpatient hematology and oncology practice
- Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, approximately 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $900–$970
- Start Date: November 8, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 6, 2027
- Work Environment: Busy outpatient practice with a large floor plan and frequent walking
Medical Assistant Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in an outpatient, hematology, oncology, or other specialty-care setting
- Medical Assistant certification or applicable outpatient Medical Assistant credential
- Strong patient-rooming and vital-sign collection skills
- Excellent communication, organization, and customer service abilities
- Ability to remain attentive and efficient in a high-volume clinical environment
- Ability to stand, walk frequently, and remain active throughout the workday
- Successful completion of required credentialing and facility onboarding processes
Outpatient Medical Assistant Responsibilities
- Greet and prepare patients for outpatient visits in a professional and compassionate manner
- Room patients and document pertinent clinical information accurately
- Obtain and record vital signs according to established protocols
- Prepare exam rooms and help maintain an organized, safe, and efficient clinical environment
- Provide clinical support to providers and the care team with daily outpatient clinic workflows
- Assist with patient flow in a busy hematology and oncology practice
- Communicate effectively with patients and clinical staff while protecting patient privacy
- Remain flexible and responsive while navigating a large practice floor plan and frequent walking demands
