Medical Assistant I – Urology Clinic, Brighton, MA (13-week travel medical assistant job supporting a high-volume hospital-based urology clinic in Boston). Join a collaborative clinical support team delivering excellent patient care in an outpatient hospital setting.

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $670–$720
  • Location: Brighton, Boston, Massachusetts (02135) — local Boston medical assistant job
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 25, 2026)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Shift: 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
  • Employment Type: Travel, On-site — travel medical assistant opportunity
  • Holiday/Weekend/On-Call: No holiday, weekend, or on-call requirements

Qualifications / Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical training
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant (hospital or clinical setting preferred)
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) strongly preferred; Athena, eClinicalWorks (ECW), or EPIC experience is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred
  • Ability to travel within the local Boston market as needed

Key Responsibilities — Urology Medical Assistant / Clinical Support

  • Greet patients, answer telephones, perform phone triage, and support front desk operations including co-pay collection
  • Update, file, and maintain patient medical records; handle correspondence, faxes, and documentation in the EMR
  • Schedule appointments, arrange hospital admissions, and coordinate laboratory services and referrals
  • Assist with clinic billing and coding tasks for outpatient urology procedures; maintain accurate equipment and supply logs
  • Prepare exam rooms and instruments, obtain medical histories, and record vital signs in the EMR
  • Explain treatment procedures and prepare patients for urology exams and procedures
  • Assist physicians during exams and procedures; collect and prepare laboratory specimens (urinalysis, PSA, testosterone)
  • Perform basic point-of-care testing and urology-specific diagnostics (bladder scan, uroflow, PTNS) under clinical protocols
  • Sterilize instruments, manage contaminated supplies, remove sutures, change dressings, and care for urinary catheters
  • Prepare and administer medications and injections as directed; call in prescriptions and authorize routine refills per protocol
  • Order supplies, medications, and equipment; maintain inventory and accurate logs
  • Ensure timely receipt and documentation of lab/diagnostic results in the EMR and communicate results per clinic workflow
  • Keep waiting and exam rooms clean, stocked, and patient-ready — maintain a positive patient experience in a busy outpatient urology clinic
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations and enhance patient care
