Acute Care Medical Assistant / CNA – Med Surg Night Shift | Harvey, IL

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $590 - $640
- Setting: Acute Care Hospital | Medical Surgical Unit
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: Every other weekend required
- Location: Harvey, IL 60426 – South suburban Chicago with easy access to downtown Chicago and nearby communities
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care hospital experience required
- Recent acute care experience within the last 3 years preferred
- Active Illinois CNA license required
- BLS certification required
- Experience with charting and electronic documentation systems required
- Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
- Comfortable working with adult patients in a medical surgical environment
- Strong teamwork, communication, and patient care skills
Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside clinical support to patients in an acute care med surg setting
- Assist with ambulation, transfers, feeding, bathing, grooming, and daily personal care needs
- Monitor and document vital signs, oxygen saturation, and point-of-care glucose testing as assigned
- Support infection prevention practices, isolation precautions, and PPE compliance
- Perform linen changes, bed making, repositioning, and pressure injury prevention tasks
- Report changes in patient condition promptly to the nursing team
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compassionate patient care environment
- Float to other units based on facility needs and patient care demands
