Travel MRI Technologist (MRI Tech) – Hospital Contract in Madison, Wisconsin

Travel MRI Technologist Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,380–$2,550
- Location: Madison, Wisconsin
- Healthcare Setting: Hospital-based MRI and diagnostic imaging
- Start Date: November 9, 2026
- Assignment Duration: 17 weeks, ending March 8, 2027
- Schedule: Approximately 40 hours per week; primarily Friday through Monday
- Shift: Day shifts, including 8-hour shifts with start times between 6:30 and 8:30 a.m. and 12-hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Call: No call required
- Additional Scheduling: Holiday coverage may be required
- Assignment Type: Travel MRI Technologist contract
- Travel Requirement: Applicants must reside at least 50 miles from the worksite
MRI Technologist Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical MRI Technologist or MRI Tech experience required
- Current ARRT Magnetic Resonance (MR) certification or ARMRIT MRI certification
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology
- Recent GE MRI experience within the past 18–24 months required
- Trauma Level I experience required; Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Epic or comparable electronic health record experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of MRI safety, radiation safety, contrast administration, peripheral IV placement, and isolation precautions
- Ability to work independently with neonates, infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Willingness to float to other imaging locations as needed
MRI Technologist Responsibilities
- Perform routine, complex, and specialized MRI examinations across a broad range of body regions and clinical indications
- Complete MRI studies involving the brain, spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis, extremities, breast, vascular systems, cardiac structures, and musculoskeletal anatomy
- Perform MRA, MRV, MRCP, diffusion, perfusion, cine, spectroscopy, post-processing, and other advanced MRI techniques as indicated
- Prepare patients, administer contrast media when appropriate, establish peripheral IV access, and provide clear MRI safety instructions
- Prioritize routine and emergent examinations in collaboration with inpatient, emergency, and medical teams
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary staff and support timely patient care
- Maintain MRI equipment, participate in quality assurance activities, and help resolve image-processing or archiving issues
- Apply MRI safety standards and appropriate precautions for all patients and procedures
- Assist with education and training for students, residents, physicians, fellows, and other healthcare professionals
