Required Qualifications

  • Active Illinois MRI Technologist license (or application in process) — Illinois MRI jobs candidates preferred
  • ARRT (RTR MR) certification (ARRT MR/RT credentials required)
  • BLS (AHA) certification
  • Minimum 1 year experience as an MRI Technologist / MRI Tech in a hospital or outpatient radiology setting
  • Proficiency with GE MRI scanners (1.5T and 3T) and standard MRI acquisition sequences
  • Strong knowledge of MRI safety guidelines, screening, and contrast administration
  • Experience starting IVs and administering MRI contrast when indicated
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR and PACS imaging systems
  • Ability to manage outpatients, inpatients, and emergency department MRI cases
  • Must pass a comprehensive drug screen (drug-free campus)
  • Professional appearance: solid colored scrubs required (not provided); tattoos must be covered

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate GE 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners to acquire high-quality diagnostic images for a variety of exams
  • Follow MRI safety protocols and patient screening procedures to ensure a safe imaging environment
  • Start IVs and administer contrast agents per department policy; monitor patients for reactions
  • Perform MRI exams for outpatients, inpatients, and ED patients with efficiency and compassion
  • Document imaging procedures, patient history, and exam details accurately in Epic EMR and PACS
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and MRI tech assistants to optimize patient care and throughput
  • Participate in orientation, continuing education, and departmental training to maintain MRI competencies
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and comply with all hospital policies and infection control standards
