- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5x8 day shifts
- Shift Duration: 8 hours
- On-Call: Required on a rotating basis, including weekday coverage and every other weekend
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,560-$2,740
- Orientation: 8 hours
- Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Work Environment: Supportive community hospital atmosphere with a daily inpatient census of approximately 28
Job Requirements
- Active Kentucky pharmacy license or compact license at the time of submission
- Registered Pharmacist (RPh) credential required
- Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience required
- Experience in inpatient pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or acute care pharmacy strongly preferred
- Cerner experience preferred
- Chemo/hazardous drug handling experience preferred
- IV certification preferred
- PharmD preferred
- Strong clinical knowledge in antibiotics, renal dosing, pharmacokinetic dosing, and medication safety
- Ability to provide required submission information, including SSN, DOB, and interview availability
Responsibilities
- Verify and dispense medications accurately for inpatient care
- Support safe and effective medication therapy across a variety of patient populations
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to optimize treatment plans
- Perform clinical dosing support, including renal and pharmacokinetic dosing adjustments
- Prepare and review IV piggyback and sterile medication products as needed
- Assist with chemotherapy and hazardous drug processes when applicable
- Maintain proper medication storage, unit dose systems, and pharmacy workflow standards
- Provide dependable on-call coverage according to the rotating schedule
- Contribute to a positive, patient-centered hospital pharmacy team environment
