Physical Therapist Job Requirements

• Current Kentucky Physical Therapist license in good professional standing
• At least 1 year of outpatient clinical experience as a licensed Physical Therapist
• Doctoral or professional degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
• Current CPR certification
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication, documentation, and patient education skills
• New graduates are not eligible for this travel therapy assignment

Outpatient Physical Therapist Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive patient evaluations and establish measurable, individualized physical therapy goals.
• Develop, implement, and modify outpatient treatment plans based on patient needs, progress, and physician direction.
• Provide discipline-specific therapy services to improve function and support a safe return to daily and community activities.
• Monitor patient progress and apply clinical judgment to promote advancement toward discharge goals.
• Complete accurate, timely medical record documentation, including evaluations, goals, functional outcomes, medical-necessity documentation, and charge entry.
• Deliver physical therapy care in accordance with valid orders, applicable regulations, professional standards, and clinic policies.
• Educate patients, families, students, and colleagues about treatment plans, functional progress, and safe participation in therapy.
• Promote patient and workplace safety by following safe-patient-handling practices, infection-prevention procedures, and environmental safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with the rehabilitation team and participate in quality-improvement and professional-development activities.
