Physical Therapist Job Requirements

• Current degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
• At least 2 years of outpatient physical therapy experience, preferably in general orthopedics
• Active Pennsylvania Physical Therapist license or eligibility to practice in Pennsylvania
• Current CPR certification
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication, organization, and patient education skills
• Commitment to patient safety, professional standards, and accurate, timely clinical documentation

Outpatient Physical Therapist Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and physician direction.
• Provide skilled outpatient orthopedic physical therapy services for patients with general orthopedic conditions.
• Modify treatment plans and goals as patients progress toward functional independence and discharge.
• Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress, functional outcomes, medical necessity, and charges accurately and within required timeframes.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, home exercise programs, safety, and strategies for returning to community activities.
• Coordinate care and provide appropriate direction for discipline-specific therapy services.
• Maintain compliance with Pennsylvania practice requirements, applicable regulations, professional standards, and safety procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement, professional development, and student education activities as assigned.
