Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program (PT)
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in the state of Texas
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of outpatient clinical experience (orthopedic and/or neurologic outpatient experience preferred)
- Strong documentation skills in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital outpatient environment and coordinating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients, establish diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and physician orders
- Provide therapeutic interventions including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, gait training, balance and vestibular training, and modalities as appropriate
- Modify treatment plans based on patient progress and goals; track outcomes to support quality improvement
- Delegate and coordinate discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients when appropriate
- Deliver patient and family education to support safe return to community and home activities
- Complete accurate, timely medical record documentation and billing-related notes to ensure insurance approval and compliance
- Promote patient and staff safety by following clinic policies, infection control standards, and facility guidelines
- Participate in professional development, performance improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary team meetings
