Interventional Radiology Technologist Job Details

• Location: Lima, Ohio (Zip: 45801) – Ohio healthcare jobs
• Setting: Hospital – Interventional Radiology Department

• End Date: May 11, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: Four 9-hour day shifts weekly (Monday–Friday; rotating start times: 7am–4:30pm, 7:30am–5pm, or 8am–5:30pm)
• On-Call: 1 day per week and every 4th weekend (must stay within 30 minutes of hospital during on-call)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2140-$2290

Interventional Radiology Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist (2–3 years preferred)
• ARRT Certification and Registration (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) – required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) from American Heart Association – required (can obtain prior to direct patient care)
• Prior travel healthcare experience preferred
• Neuro-interventional experience (run-off and angiogram) highly preferred
• Associate’s degree from an ARRT-accredited institute preferred
• Ability to stay within 30 minutes of hospital during on-call shifts

Interventional Radiology Technologist Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures: biopsies, thrombectomies, embolizations, tunneled dialysis catheters, Medi ports, lumbar drains, nephrostomy tube insertions, PICC placements, gallbladder/biliary drains, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty/sacroplasty, lumbar punctures, CAPD catheters, epidurals, PEG tube insertions
• Perform neuro-interventional procedures: cerebral angiograms, thrombectomy, coiling, carotid stenting
• Obtain and verify patient clinical history and lab work; ensure accurate documentation
• Provide clear instructions and explanations to patients and care providers
• Administer contrast using a power injector as prescribed
• Adhere to radiation safety standards and minimize exposure risks
• Operate imaging and associated equipment proficiently
• Complete pre-, intra-, and post-procedure documentation, including timeouts and informed consent
• Assess patient risk for allergic reactions to contrast media and assist in initial treatment if needed
• Utilize PACS and other hospital systems proficiently
• Educate and monitor students and other healthcare professionals as needed
• Maintain inventory and notify appropriate personnel when supplies are needed
• Demonstrate flexibility and dependability in supporting coverage for open positions and staying beyond scheduled shifts if required
