  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
  • Position Type: Travel Radiation Therapist / Radiation Oncology (temporary assignment)
  • Setting: Acute Care Hospital – Radiation Oncology Unit
  • Shift: Day shift, 5 x 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,700–$2,900
  • Charting / EMR: Epic (electronic medical record experience required)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Radiation Therapist (radiation therapy experience required)
  • Valid California Radiation Therapy License (must be in hand at time of submission) — California radiation therapist jobs require state licensure
  • Current ARRT (T) certification
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Experience with Epic charting system and accurate treatment documentation
  • Proficiency or strong skills in IMRT, SRS (stereotactic radiosurgery), SBRT (stereotactic body radiation therapy), and IGRT (image-guided radiation therapy)
  • Familiarity with Elekta Infinity/Synergy platforms and C-RAD surface-guidance systems (training provided if needed)
  • Willingness to float to like units or affiliate hospitals as needed
  • Ability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
  • Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
  • Pending licenses not accepted — active, in-hand licensure required

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high-quality radiation therapy treatments to adult and geriatric oncology patients as prescribed by radiation oncologists
  • Perform treatment simulations, B-Mode acquisition targeting, and CT-based simulation for treatment planning
  • Utilize CBCT / kV / mV imaging, IGRT techniques, compensation filters, custom molds, and shielding devices
  • Administer external beam therapy, IMRT, SRS, and SBRT per departmental protocols
  • Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and families about procedures, side effect management, and care pathways
  • Ensure radiation safety, contamination control, and proper use of PPE and isolation precautions
  • Accurately document treatments, patient responses, and charting in Epic electronic medical records
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including radiation oncology physicians, physics, radiology, respiratory, social services, and rapid response teams
  • Float to sister facilities or affiliate hospitals when required to support clinical operations
