Radiation Therapist Jobs – Radiation Oncology | 13-Week Travel Contract in West Reading, PA
Join a hospital-based Radiation Oncology team as a Radiation Therapist in West Reading, Pennsylvania. This 13-week travel contract offers an on-site opportunity to support patients through CT simulation and radiation treatment while working with Varian technology in a collaborative clinical environment. Radiation Therapist Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,990–$2,140
- Location: West Reading, Pennsylvania
- Healthcare Setting: Hospital-based Radiation Oncology
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks, ending January 17, 2027
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
- Hours: 40 hours per week; schedule may be 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
- Additional Coverage: Occasional holiday call coverage
- Work Arrangement: On-site
Radiation Therapist Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy program
- ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Experience with Varian radiation therapy equipment
- Experience with radiation treatment delivery, CT simulation, and treatment planning workflows
- Ability to complete required Pennsylvania fingerprinting and child abuse clearance processes
- New graduates may be considered; clinical competency and a commitment to patient-centered care are essential
Radiation Therapy Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed radiation treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist
- Obtain and verify images used for treatment planning, targeting, and patient positioning
- Assess patient condition before simulation and treatment and communicate relevant findings to the care team
- Provide clear, compassionate education and support throughout the simulation and treatment process
- Create immobilization devices and treatment aids when assigned to CT simulation
- Operate a CT scanner and MED RAD power injector for IV contrast administration as appropriate
- Obtain and analyze cross-sectional imaging to support treatment planning
- Perform blood draws as indicated and follow established radiation safety and quality protocols
- Document treatments, patient responses, and clinical activities accurately
