Radiation Therapist Job Details

- Schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8-hour day shifts
- Shift Hours: 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- Weekly Hours: 40 hours
- Healthcare Setting: Short-term acute care hospital and Level III trauma center
- Patient Population: Adults
- Daily Census: Approximately 35 visits
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic
- Call and Weekends: No required call or weekend coverage

Radiation Therapist Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of professional Radiation Therapist experience
- Active Washington Radiation Therapist license in hand before the assignment begins
- Experience with Epic electronic medical records
- Adult outpatient radiation therapy experience
- Working knowledge of ARIA, Varian systems, TrueBeam, and Varis Vision/ARIA
- Experience with treatment simulation, CBCT and kV/mV imaging, IMRT, respiratory gating, and radiation safety
- Ability to support treatment planning and delivery for a range of treatment sites and diagnoses
- Strong communication, organization, and patient-care skills
- Two professional references may be requested during the credentialing process
Radiation Therapist Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, accurate, and compassionate radiation therapy to adult patients
- Perform treatment simulations and assist with the preparation and verification of treatment plans
- Operate radiation therapy equipment and imaging systems, including TrueBeam, Varian platforms, and CBCT or kV/mV imaging
- Support advanced treatment techniques such as IMRT, stereotactic radiosurgery, and respiratory gating as applicable
- Complete image guidance, treatment setup, patient positioning, and quality checks in accordance with department standards
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic and relevant radiation oncology systems
- Apply radiation safety practices for patients, colleagues, and the treatment environment
- Collaborate with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and other members of the oncology care team
- Provide clear explanations and compassionate support to patients throughout their treatment journey
