Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Pediatric Critical Care | Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Details

Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

  • At least 3 years of pediatric critical care or NICU experience; 3–5 years preferred
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Current Wisconsin respiratory care license required. Candidates without a Wisconsin license may be eligible to pursue Wisconsin Act 10 temporary licensure
  • Associate degree or respiratory therapy certificate
  • Current American Heart Association BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
  • Demonstrated ability to function independently in a PICU and Level IV NICU
  • Experience with pediatric and neonatal ventilator management, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, and high-acuity respiratory care
  • Flu vaccination required; exemptions are not available
  • Epic Clinical Documentation experience preferred

Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to pediatric and neonatal patients in PICU and NICU settings
  • Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation, including Servo-I, Servo-U, LTV, Astral, and Trilogy systems
  • Provide care involving oscillators, tracheostomy patients, CPAP, BiPAP, RAM cannula, NAVA ventilation, PEP, and inhaled nitric oxide
  • Perform and assist with intubations, extubations, suctioning, respiratory treatments, and ongoing patient assessments
  • Monitor ventilated patients and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
  • Adapt to assignments across pediatric cardiac, medical, and surgical intensive care units, the Level IV NICU, acute care units, and emergency/trauma areas
  • Document respiratory assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record
  • Participate in the rotating weekend and holiday schedule as assigned
