Join a pediatric hospital team as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in Mountainside, New Jersey. This 13-week travel respiratory therapist assignment offers the opportunity to care for infant, pediatric, and adolescent patients in a hospital-based respiratory therapy department. Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,030–$2,190
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Location: Mountainside, New Jersey
- Start Date: November 30, 2026
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts
- Shift Hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, including Saturday and Sunday
- Patient Population: Infant, pediatric, and adolescent patients
- Charting System: Meditech
- Orientation: Approximately 16 hours
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Scrubs: Any color
Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements
- At least 1.5 years of recent respiratory therapy experience
- Experience providing respiratory care to infant, pediatric, and adolescent patients
- Demonstrated experience with ventilator management and respiratory modalities
- Active New Jersey respiratory therapy license or applicable compact eligibility
- Current CRT or RRT credential; RRT is preferred
- Current NBRC credentials
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to work overnight shifts and every other weekend
- All requested time off must be submitted and approved before accepting the assignment
Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive respiratory therapy services to infants, children, and adolescents
- Assess respiratory status and implement appropriate respiratory care plans
- Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation in accordance with patient needs and clinical protocols
- Perform respiratory treatments and support a variety of respiratory modalities
- Monitor patient response to therapy and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary care team
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Meditech
- Collaborate with nurses, providers, and other clinicians to promote safe, high-quality patient care
- Participate in required weekend coverage and applicable winter holiday scheduling
