Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730 – $1,860
• Location: Fort Wayne, IN 46805 (Fort Wayne healthcare / Indiana respiratory therapist jobs)
• Role: Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Hospital, Cardiopulmonary & Sleep Services
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (5pm – 5am), every other weekend required
• Hours: 36 hours per week (guaranteed)
• On-Site Position: Yes

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Valid RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• At least 1 year of experience as a credentialed Respiratory Care Practitioner (5 years preferred for complex ICU cases)
• Adult intubation skill required; ventilator management experience preferred
• Experience participating in high-risk infant deliveries and attending C-sections (neonatal support/NRP)
• BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required
• EPIC EMR training provided during orientation (experience with Epic or other EMRs a plus)
• Strong clinical assessment skills, ABG interpretation, and patient-centered communication

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care and therapeutic interventions across all patient populations (adult, neonatal, pediatric as required)
• Manage mechanical ventilation and non-invasive ventilation (Servo ventilators, BIPAP v-60/Vision, Airvo)
• Perform patient evaluations, develop and update care plans, and document in Epic EMR
• Participate in multidisciplinary care for distressed newborns and high-risk deliveries; attend C-sections as needed
• Use adjunct equipment and therapies including MetNeb, Neo-Tee; ensure accurate medication and supply scanning
• Complete department-specific orientation and competency check-offs (up to 3 weeks with preceptor)
• Adhere to hospital policies and dress code (black scrubs)
