Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,220–$1,310
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 21, 2026
• End Date: December 21, 2026
• Schedule: Minimum of three 12-hour shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends
• Healthcare Setting: 266-bed acute-care hospital respiratory department with two intensive care units
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Dress Code: Scrubs
• Work Location: On-site in Tallahassee, Florida

Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• At least 1 year of respiratory therapy experience, preferably in critical care or emergency care
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
• Demonstrated competency in ventilator management and BiPAP therapy
• Ability to rotate throughout inpatient units, including intensive care settings
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-service skills, including use of AIDET principles
• Ability to work on-site and meet rotating weekend scheduling requirements

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care for patients across inpatient units and intensive care areas
• Perform aerosol treatments and manage ventilators, BiPAP, Vapotherm, and other respiratory equipment
• Support advanced respiratory procedures, including intubation, arterial line insertion, and bedside bronchoscopy assistance, as appropriate to competency and scope of practice
• Participate in daily interdisciplinary rounding and collaborate with nursing and other clinical disciplines
• Assess patient respiratory status and deliver timely, evidence-based respiratory interventions
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech
• Promote compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care throughout every interaction
• Adapt to varied patient populations and clinical needs while floating throughout the hospital
