Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Sleep Technologist / Polysomnographic Technologist or related sleep lab role
- Relevant certification preferred (RPSGT, CPSGT, or equivalent) — certifications in sleep medicine valued for hospital sleep lab roles
- Experience with polysomnography (PSG), EEG/EOG/EMG monitoring, respiratory channels, and oximetry
- Knowledge of CPAP/BiPAP titration protocols and sleep disorder testing (including OSA evaluation)
- Ability to pass a Colorado Adult Protective Services (CAPS) check
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills; familiarity with EMR/EHR documentation is a plus
- Reliable transportation to and from the hospital in Gunnison, CO
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive sleep testing and polysomnography (PSG) recording, scoring, and preliminary analysis in a hospital sleep lab environment
- Monitor, record, and interpret sleep study data including EEG, EOG, EMG, respiratory channels, and oxygen saturation
- Conduct CPAP/BiPAP titration studies and implement interventions per facility protocols to optimize treatment for patients with sleep-disordered breathing (e.g., OSA)
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and education throughout the testing process; provide clear patient instructions and support
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of procedures, results, and clinical notes in the facility charting system
- Collaborate with sleep physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care
