Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Florida (FL SLP license)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA required (CCC-SLP)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as an SLP; inpatient, acute care, or rehabilitation experience preferred
- Strong clinical skills in evaluation, treatment planning, and documentation for dysphagia, cognitive-communication, and communication disorders
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on assessment and physician direction
- Provide evidence-based inpatient speech therapy, including dysphagia management and cognitive-communication interventions as indicated
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, OT, nursing, social work, physicians) to address barriers to discharge and optimize patient outcomes
- Complete accurate, timely medical record documentation in the EHR, including daily notes, goal writing, assessments, and discharge summaries
- Promote patient and staff safety by following hospital policies, infection control practices, and safety protocols
- Participate in professional development, advocacy, and student supervision as assigned
- Maintain professional standards, codes of conduct, and patient confidentiality (HIPAA)
- Perform other duties as requested to support patient care and hospital operations
